About Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc.

Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc. was founded by Tony Squire as a catalyst for change in Richmond, Virginia. It serves Virginia and neighboring States. It is a program that has instill life altering values for more than a generation. As an avid basketball fan Tony Squire used basketball to passionately engage the young men of Richmond while teaching important values. The Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc. has continuously opened the doors of opportunity for over 3 decades. The non-profit program teaches Teamwork coupled with Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem. Anthony Squire stresses the importance of education teaching his players that there is a direct link between class work, homework, studying, educational achievement and career opportunities.

In 1987 Tony Squire had a vision that the sport he loved, Basketball, could be a driving force in changing lives throughout the Community. Organizing, volunteering, and establishing Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc., Mr. Squire enlisted other volunteers to bring his dream to a reality. Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc. provides a concrete foundation through the competition of team sports to teach the drive of achievement and accomplishment. For over three decades Tony Squire has relied on unselfish volunteers and sponsors to support the important work of Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc., a non-profit foundation.

A testament to the determination and dedication of Tony Squire in founding, nurturing, and growing the Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc. is told in the stories of the Alumni. Mr. Squire has both reached for the stars and touched thousands of hearts and lives throughout his over 3 decades as the guiding force of Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc. Anthony Squire has guided over 1500 lives through the Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc. The accomplishments of Alumni that were affected by Tony Squire include almost a thousand scholarships earned, college, semi-pro and professional basketball, as well as business careers. Thirteen Alumni of Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc. have played in the coveted NBA, three became All-Stars and 2 were voted into the Prestigious NBA Hall of Fame. Tony Squire has touched the stars while reaching hearts with his devotion to the Players of Squires Boys Basketball Education Foundation, Inc.
